We could not have been more pleased with the wealth of knowledge and expertise that both Chris and Lauren shared with us. Chris enabled all of us to progress and extend our throwing skills beyond our comfort zones in a gentle , informative and natural way, a way that only happens when someone truly knows their craft and are equally able to share it. We were an intermediate group but each of us were at a very different level, however, on this course both Chris and Lauren were able to meet the needs of each of us, in a non standardised way which had the effect, of each of us progressing much better from the place we were at, in our throwing. The time allows for good introductions to prepping clay and the basics of throwing bowls and cylinders and shaping and finishing.

The tuition from Lauren and Chris, who have spent decades working with clay, and clearly still have a passion for it, means you get a huge leap forward in learning and making. I was amazed by what we, as a group of beginners, were able to make.

And the lunches are great too.”

Every time, I’ve met wonderful friends and come away inspired, having made stuff I’m incredibly proud of. The craic is always great, Chris and Lauren are amazing potters, brilliant hosts and always great fun. The grounds are beautiful and if you need to travel, accommodation (The Holiday Inn) is easy and just a 5 minute walk from the studio. I’ll definitely be back.”
